GUIDING PRINCIPLES OF OUR SCHOOL - OUR VISION AND MISSION

School Ethos

The ethos of our school is guided by the values and principles of our holy Torah. All aspects of our school are governed by these guiding principles.

We strive to develop and nurture Bnei Torah who live their lives as Kiddush Hashem.

Vision and Mission Statement

Our vision is a smart service delivery of quality education both from a religious and general studies point of view.

Included in this vision is that we should be at the cutting edge of curriculum delivery, thereby providing access to quality life-long learning, growth and development opportunities.

Additionally our vision is to develop students who are equipped to advance and uplift our immediate society, and thereby impacting on South African society at large.

Values guiding the principles of the school

Maharsha is a registered school with the Gauteng Department of Education offering classes from Pre-school to Grade 12.

Using a well-maintained infrastructure we strive to provide chinuch in accordance with Jewish Law, the South African Schools Act and applicable South African legislation.

Based on principles of equity, security, respect and good governance we aim to:

· Nurture and raise well-rounded, responsible and contributing members of society;

· Teach a solid knowledge-base and foundation in Biblical Text, Talmud, Jewish Law, History, Thought and Practices, encouraging adherence and appreciation of the active life-style of Bnei Torah.

· Access to and implementation of the National CAPS Curriculum;

· Professional, holistic and competent management of this implementation, together with comprehensive learner support;

· Adherence to the Educators Employment Act, together with continued support and development of Staff;

· Effective and frequent communication with parents to ensure involvement and support of the learner in order to secure our partnership and to realise the above aims

· Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations

This is achieved through ongoing development and review of curriculum and assessment policies, as well as codes of conduct, in order to satisfy all stakeholders – parents, learners and educators.
